The Social and professional interest-based assemblies are an important part of the functioning of the Catalan National Assembly. Its principle goals are the following:
They bring the message of the need to convert us in a country there where the territorial assemblies do not reach. How? Through professional associations, associations of leisure, science and of all kind of interests.
This way they help to expand the message and contribute to the mobilisation that will achieve Catalonia as an independent country.
The Social and professional interest-based assemblies, as pressure groups in their natural surroundings, give content to the ANC’s message by denouncing the negative effects all the Catalans experience just because we don’t happen to have a state of our own, one with full decision power and managing abilities. They also introduce alternative ideas to have a better functioning state structure in this new mental marc we’re now hoping for: that of a sovereign Catalonia.
The Social and professional interest-based assemblies are encouraged to exchange ideas between them and with the Local assemblies. As such, their contribution is to make events substantively more interesting. That way, we achieve to talk to and debate with more and more people. In other words, they make sure the people are the ones that will decide their future and will be able to do so in an informed matter.
We want our message to be positive at all times, never against anybody. We want it to narrate the construction of our future, a future that belongs to us and whose realisation is in the hands of all of us. Every one of us can contribute, each one in his or her way.
